Ford Enter the Hybrid and Electric Car Market
The sales figures for 2011 showed that the Ford Fusion had its best ever selling year. This gives Ford a great platform in which to enter 2012 and bring out their first Hybrid car to the mass market. The brand new design 2012 Ford Fusion is available in 3 and 4 cylinder engine sizes meaning that straight away there are savings to be made on the fuel bill.
Ford has tried to remodel itself with their all new Ford Fusion. It appeared as though Honda,Toyotaand Chevrolet would run away with sales in the hybrid car market but Ford looks to have given them a fight back. There are similarities with the sleek looking Audi A7 that comes but with a more Ford like price tag.
The styling has certainly taken a large swing for the better with all new interior controls and much more fashionable features that have stepped away from the traditional Ford plastic. The 3 cylinder engine defies logic by delivering 170 bhp whilst maintaining up to almost 40 mpg on highways. Ford have installed their revolutionary start/stop feature which cuts out the engine when the car is stopped at lights which only adds to the fuel efficiency.
The Ford designers have been commenting that they were trying to change the way in which people view cars with their latest model and it seems to have worked.
